Organizational Savvy: Increasing Your Effectiveness
Regardless of the challenges you face as a Board Secretary, there is one skill that is critical to your success: organizational savvy. Organizational savvy is understanding the pressures and priorities that affect the board and the superintendent as they lead the school district, and aligning your work appropriately. Whether it's working with new board members and superintendents, staying in touch with priorities of the current board, or understanding the context of what's happening at board meetings, organizational savvy helps you to navigate the underwater currents and occasional whirlpools of your job.
